Wines described as "earthy" will have aromas and flavors of soil, minerals, leather, and/or wet leaves.
Believe it or not, many people find earthiness to be a positive element to find in a wine.
Usually, Cabernet Sauvignon and similarly "big" red wines will exhibit earthy character.
