Wangen is quoted in 823 in a deed of gift of King Lothaire.
Property of the abbey " Saint Étienne " of Strasbourg from the 9th century until 1789.

" Niederthorturm " gateway of the 16th century : tower topped by a bartizan.
Vestiges of the pentagonal enclosure of the old castle of the 13th century built according to a very rare type of plan in Alsace, in particular a Gothic window, coming from the castle, is embedded in a vestige of wall.
The fountain on Church square dates from the 19th century.
The church of 1830 to 1833 with remains of a Roman tympanum of the 13th century.
