The History
At the foot of the Three Castles, occupied during The Late Bronze Age, Hallstatt and Late Empire. Wedged in the borough of Eguisheim the village of Husseren les Châteaux depended on it in the beginning.
Two of the three castles of Eguisheim were built during the 11th century, destroyed in1466 were in the borough of Husseren.
The village appears back in 1282.
" Husern ", the oldest unquestionable version of the name goes back to the 14th century.
Husseren was divided into three parts which were joined together at the 15th century by the " Hattstatt 's".
The " Schauenburg's " were owners from the beginning of the 17th century to the Revolution.
Sightseeing
On the site of the 3 castles, researchers made some Neolithic and Roman finds, of " Weckmund " and " Wahlenburg " from the 12th to the 13th centuries.
The village, picturesque as a whole, must be visited.
The " House of Tithe ".
The church " Saint Pancrace " of 1885, of neo gothic style with a statue of " Saint Pancrace " dating from the 16th century, with its baptismal font of the 12th century, taken from the abbey of Murbach.
